The inspiration
I usually start with a trip to the river before I start painting. It always seems to calm me, especially in the middle of winter when the water is half frozen and there is motion between the ice and the current. I often find myself bringing home little found objects and containers of water after my visits to incorporate them into my work. Ill either use the water to paint with or paint a piece inspired by the texture or shape of the found object. Water is home to me – it is my source of inspiration, relaxation, calmness and peace.”
